<image:title>Behind the Canvas - Behind the Canvas #2 - The Story of Dikkie</image:title>
<image:caption>That freedom felt like a gift. I had been wanting to create a portrait in the Renaissance style for a long time — something that carried a sense of timelessness, a little bit of mystery, and a lot of soul. So I dove in, inspired by the old masters. I used a similar technique: building depth with layers, then gently lifting out the light with a soft cloth and cotton swabs. Slowly, Dikkie began to emerge from the shadows — regal, calm, and full of character. It felt magical to bring him to life this way. Knowing that the entire amount of this artwork went directly to charity made it even more special. This wasn’t just a painting; it was a gesture of kindness, a connection between art and purpose.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Back in June I had the chance to take part in a charity auction in support of Alpe d’HuZes. The winning bid gave someone the opportunity to have their beloved cat painted by me — such a special project! Let me introduce you to “Dikkie” . I’m painting him in a Renaissance style, using techniques once employed by the Dutch masters like Vermeer and Rembrandt. The first underpainting is already on the canvas, and I can’t wait to keep building up the layers.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Gallery - Listen</image:title>
<image:caption>‘Listen’ was created from a place of quiet curiosity. It’s an abstract mixed media painting that explores the connection between sound and stillness — the moment where movement fades and space begins. I worked in layers of paint and paper, letting color and texture guide me, until the piece began to speak in its own rhythm. It’s a reminder that silence, too, has a voice.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Gallery - Sounds of the Forest 1 of 7</image:title>
<image:caption>Sounds of the Forest’ is a series of seven abstract mixed media paintings. Created during a forest retreat, each piece is inspired by natural sounds — intuitively transformed into layers of color, texture, and movement. This collection explores the connection between nature, emotion, and artistic expression.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The second painting in the ‘Sounds of the Forest’ series translates the forest’s natural harmony into abstract form. Inspired by the rustle of leaves and the whisper of the wind, I used intuitive color and texture to express calm and connection</image:caption>

      <image:title>Gallery - Sounds of the Forest 3 of 7</image:title>
<image:caption>In this piece, I explore the dialogue between sound and silence. Created during my forest retreat, it reflects the gentle energy that surrounded me — the way light shifted through the trees, and how stillness could feel alive. Each brushstroke became a response to what I heard</image:caption>

<image:caption>Sounds of the Forest 4 of 7 invites you to pause and listen. During my time in the forest, I became aware of its subtle rhythm — a heartbeat beneath the surface. Through layered abstract forms, I tried to capture that quiet pulse and the emotion it stirred in me.</image:caption>

<image:caption>As I worked on this fifth painting, I imagined walking deeper into the forest — surrounded by texture, movement, and the soft rhythm of natural sounds. My goal was to translate that feeling of presence into visual form, letting color and shape echo the calm of the woods.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Gallery - Sounds of the Forest 6 of 7</image:title>
<image:caption>With this painting, I explored how sound can become rhythm and rhythm can become color. Each layer reflects the play between light, motion, and silence. The process was intuitive — guided by how the forest made me feel rather than what I saw.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Gallery - Sounds of the Forest 7 of 7</image:title>
<image:caption>This final piece completes my ‘Sounds of the Forest’ series. It embodies a sense of stillness and closure — like the quiet that follows a deep breath. Through abstract layers and natural tones, I wanted to express gratitude for the calm and inspiration the forest gave me.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Born from spontaneity and play, this work carries the raw energy of the city — lines and textures that whisper of walls marked by time. <image:title>Gallery - A Reminiscence of Winter</image:title>
<image:caption>"A Reminiscence of Winter’ is an ode to simplicity and stillness. Inspired by the quiet beauty of winter, this piece embraces the philosophy of wabi-sabi—the appreciation of imperfection and the transient nature of life. The single, bold line anchors the composition, cutting through the textured calmness like a horizon in a snow-covered landscape. Each layer is intentionally minimal, creating a sense of balance and tranquility. This painting invites the viewer to pause, breathe, and find beauty in the understated moments of life, much like the serenity of a winter’s day</image:caption>

<image:caption>‘Cosmic Flow’ is a deeply personal exploration of contrasts and energy. While creating this piece, I found myself drawn to the interplay between chaos and harmony—the boldness of black and white textures balanced by vibrant orange accents. The movement and patterns emerged naturally, almost like a rhythm of their own, capturing a sense of mystery and flow. This painting is more than a composition; it’s an invitation to feel the dynamic push and pull of energy. Whether it finds a home as a statement piece or part of a gallery wall, ‘Cosmic Flow’ brings a sense of motion and balance into any space.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Portfolio 2 - Abstract works</image:title>
<image:caption>In this piece, I explore the dialogue between sound and silence. Created during my forest retreat, it reflects the gentle energy that surrounded me — the way light shifted through the trees, and how stillness could feel alive. Each brushstroke became a response to what I heard</image:caption>

      <image:title>Portfolio 2 - Abstract works</image:title>
<image:caption>Sounds of the Forest 4 of 7 invites you to pause and listen. During my time in the forest, I became aware of its subtle rhythm — a heartbeat beneath the surface. Through layered abstract forms, I tried to capture that quiet pulse and the emotion it stirred in me.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Portfolio 2 - Abstract works</image:title>
<image:caption>As I worked on this fifth painting, I imagined walking deeper into the forest — surrounded by texture, movement, and the soft rhythm of natural sounds. My goal was to translate that feeling of presence into visual form, letting color and shape echo the calm of the woods.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Portfolio 2 - Abstract works</image:title>
<image:caption>With this painting, I explored how sound can become rhythm and rhythm can become color. Each layer reflects the play between light, motion, and silence. The process was intuitive — guided by how the forest made me feel rather than what I saw.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Portfolio 2 - Abstract works</image:title>
<image:caption>This final piece completes my ‘Sounds of the Forest’ series. It embodies a sense of stillness and closure — like the quiet that follows a deep breath. Through abstract layers and natural tones, I wanted to express gratitude for the calm and inspiration the forest gave me.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Portfolio 2 - Abstract works</image:title>
<image:caption>Born from spontaneity and play, this work carries the raw energy of the city — lines and textures that whisper of walls marked by time. What began as an exploration of color and form slowly revealed an urban rhythm, a collective voice layered in paint, movement, and intuition.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Portfolio 2 - Abstract works</image:title>

      <image:title>Portfolio 2 - Abstract works</image:title>

<image:caption>This is one of a series of three paintings, inspired by my longing for summer. I created it in the middle of winter, when the days felt cold and dark, and all I could think about was the warmth of the sun on my skin. Every brushstroke was my way of reaching for that feeling—bright, joyful, and full of life. Through these colors and textures, I wanted to bring a little bit of summer closer, even when it felt so far away.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Echoes’ is a reflection of the layers we carry—memories, emotions, and fleeting moments that shape us. While creating this piece, I focused on the interplay of light and shadow, using textured shapes and deep, moody tones to evoke a sense of depth and mystery. The bold orange accents and layered patterns serve as reminders of the energy and vibrancy hidden beneath the surface. With ‘Echoes,’ I wanted to capture the quiet resonance of the past meeting the present, inviting the viewer to explore their own emotional layers.</image:caption>
